I screwed up my sound tutor/ sound teacher and I miss it. It's a black blob circuit with multiple sounds (animal , mechanicals, percussion, melody ). I borrowed one to present the original board here for referrence. Strange circuit , the "on" pilot light is part of the components. I should have stopped after the pitchbend. Now it's broken. A great little ambience maker I shouldn't really promote until I have a new one.
In it's current state the best feature is the 8x8 switch matrix. It has 16 connections devided in 2x8. Each of 8 connections switch to any of the other group of 8, giving 64 !!! different bends. Now imagine pressing multiple contacts... I'm sure you see why I'm impressed ?
To use it in other devices I pressed the carbon traces thightly against a piece of coppertraced perfboard with some old construction toy parts I found. I had some paper card between it to even out the pressure.
(That's just great , now nobody will send me their fucked up soundteacher/soundtutor. Still, the satisfaction remains of being the first to document this great little gem, and probably seeing it used by others in the future.)
