This Philips "sweet Dreams" cradle player/sampler doesn't need much to enjoy.
I tried adding a pitchbend, but it was shallow and unreliable, so I left it off.
I added normaly open switches for faster acces to record and play and a mini-jack input I never use. It works fine blowing and chanting into the microphone.
I like to fade it's sound in and out moving the speaker underneath into a cheap vintage microphone into the Kaoss pad.

PHILIPS Baby Care Sweet Dreams Cradle Player
model SBC SC 150
(from the advertising, electri-fire comments in bold)
Cradle Player is truly a unique and welcome addition to any baby crib. Only the Philips cradle player allows baby to hear a soothing 60-second recording of your own familiar voice.
- Records 1 minute of a parent's voice to help baby sleep
- Premium audio quality (NOT! Distorting and hissy, but that's why I like it the more)
- Pre-recorded natural sounds (babbling brook, heartbeat) and lullaby (cheesy piano tune)
- Adjustable playing time (always put this on maximum)
- Softly glowing night light (that's cool)
- Gentle fade-out of sounds and light (yea, too bad)
- Requires 4-AA batteries (not included)
