the basics of my setup:
Oberheim echoplex digital pro (EDP) Delay looper. It's my master MIDI clock source with tap tempo, so I can use my Regelwerk sequencer in live jamming.
Doepfer Regelwerk step sequencer/controller : the heart of my setup and BEST PURCHASE EVER.
Lexicon Vortex Wierd and Wonderful modulator and delay. Old time favorite of jamaican Dub Radio DJ's. Never a dull moment wizzzarrhytums. Here´s the Vortex User Guide .
Behringer mixer with 6 aux sends to go loopy with the delays.
sound sources:
Fender Telecaster custom, modified. I've had this one for more than 20 years already! It's heavy so I bought a mini sized telecaster that needs a reworking to stabilise tuning.
Yamaha A3000 sampler: I accumulated a nice set of sounds. Mostly hit'n'drum kits.
Roland MKS-7: Controllable with sysex by Regelwerk. For winging it/traveling "light", weighs a ton though, hahaha... Lots of fun. It's a keeper. MKS-7 page with links and sound demo's. MKS-7 page with manuals and more links.
Clavia MicroModular permanently borrowed. Some demo patches for use with the KaossPad are in the making.
My homebuilt effects and circuitbent devices:
My homebuilt Stompbox Effects:
Three of Tim Escobedo's designs. I'm a fan!
"Uglyface": input is amplified by an LM386 0,5W poweramp, drives a LED-LDR combi to control pitch of the 555. Additionally the 555 timer oscillator is synced to the input signal. I've added a panpot to fade between the 386 and the 555 output. Fat, Raunchy, In your Face . Very versatile little device.
I have been impressed by Jurgen Haible's site (insert link) and wanted to make a version of the Serge waveshaper featured there. But it would invole lots of soldering, and I had lots of other things to finish.
So instead, recognising the same principle in a simplified form, I made Tim's "Bronx Cheer" doing distortion and filtery stuff. Has a great range of colors depending on input volume. Easy.
I also built the "Thing Modulator" , a design by Hemmo Tim has modified to stabilise it. Very simple build, I used a LM567 Phase Locked Loop with just a couple of caps resistors and two pots. Although it works similar to the Uglyface (reset an oscillator with input signal) mine is thinner sounding. But I like it. This lo-fi fizzy noisy thing creates a fine background through other effects into the loopers.
You can find these and more circuits at http://www.geocities.com/tpe123/folkurban/fuzz/snippets.html .
Last thing I built myself : 4ms Pedals Noise-swash
Distorts, oscillates, spits out beats and noise. Despite the screams, spits, and flutters it tends to sound more open, dynamic or glassy compared to the architypical geetar fuzzers. Versatile if a bit temperamentful. I like it but hesitate using it in a "non random" setting.
More effects ( I'm easily bored...)

Synth/ filter stuff:
Zoom BFX-708 Review somewhat bland, but nice enough, compact "Jack of all trades".
Boss SYB3 Review synth stompbox : works, but sounds generic. Best on drums, or just tap the jack plug.
Electro-harmonix Micro synthesiser Review ( I prefer above the SYB3 , has more "freak" in it) Needs a tru bypass mod as it ruins your input signal .
Boss OC2 octaver: Review : used before the Micro synth, stabilises the tracking, sounds fatter and better than the micro's sub octave sound.
korg kaosspad2 : Review I could perform with just this and my Bart Smit keyboard. In fact Bart feels naked without it. Here´s the KP2 User Guide.
Frustrated Boss gt-6 Review that wants to sound like a guitar effect but the boss won't let it. Well, occasionally.
Yamaha UD-stomp Delay modeller: Review
It should have been a brilliant device. Well, it is. Clear sound, 8 delays with filters and modulation. MIDI controllers recieved.
Main complaints: No MIDI clock synchronising. Awkward programming and tap tempo implementation.
Underused. A shame really. I should delve into this one but my interests have shifted elsewhere.
The UD-stomp manual is here. This is really taxing my lectic skills. Makes me look stupid a lot.
Line6 Delay modeller: Review With a footpedal control it does Whammy like pitching and ring modulation like sounds.
My favorite is the reverse delay.
More MIDI :

Peavey MidiBass
Kurzweil ExpressionMate ribbon controller/arpeggiator/MIDI processor
Here's a thorough review/description . The lack of Kurzweil support is an outrage. They do supply the near unreadable horror they call a Manual. Here´s a backup just in case Kurzweil disappears.
Here is a tutorial describing setting up for use with a Kurzweil K2000: http://www.geocities.com/bitdump/mate.htm .
Casio DM-100 MIDI horn, yet unbent. Go to my Casio MIDI horn page.
There's other stuff that usually stays home:
Roland octapad
Roland GR-50
Yamaha GC-10 MIDI guitar: cool looks, finicky programming.
Control synthesis Deep Base Nine mono synth (nowadays mainly used as filter)
Roland MC-303 : crappy MIDI and sloppy synchronising. I made a couple of nice things with it though.
E-mu e6400 sampler : never got my head around this one. Still needs a harddisk. E-mu support no more.
Boss RPS-10 Adrian Belew used this for reverse delay.
Alesis Wedge: Bought for it's realtime capabilitys but has not reached my main setup.
Line6 filter FM-4 filter modeller : not as "cool" as a sherman, but I'm happy with it.
Alesis HR-16 and HR-16B . Unbent. Yet.
Other stuff like mixers, mergers, racks, patchbay. Obsolete gear waiting to be ripped apart. Some already in a semi-ripped-apart state.
Diagnose: GAS (gear aquisition syndrome)
